Anti-revisionism is a conservative theory born in the 50’s in the USSR, whose purpose is maintaining the purity and the strength of the original Marxist-Leninist doctrine, by blocking the internal, reformist attempts. The influence of that political position is evident in the current, predominant condemnation of historical revisionism, as an improper alteration of facts belonging to collective memory, such as the Holocaust. At the same time, a leftist concept of democracy has been developed, based on the sovereignty of moral values, and popular ideologies.
As you can notice, the very heart of any leftist ideology, including Marxism-Leninism, is the existence of a collective mind, able to unify the individuals belonging to a certain social class, and to express common feels, ideas, and purposes. Naturally, according to the described philosophical axiom, history should be a product of the collective mind. Well, I think that no one can deny that there’s something similar inside each human’s brain, and that there are natural instincts and unborn impulses always equal or, at least, responding to the same definition. Nevertheless, telepathy, if existent, is incredibly rare, and subject to serious doubts. In effect, the vast majority of personal conflicts originates from situations, in which you think as you were me, without any previous consent from me. Although I can only confirm that societies are born to satisfy primary needs, I can’t agree that primary needs are dominating the life of each society. Even tribal groups, today rather restrict as for number and memberships, have complex rites, habits, social relationships, and so on. When you affirm that there’s a collective mind, you don’t want any dialogue with me, and you consider invalid my eventual objection, or opposition. Following the same affirmation, you come to the following, logical conclusions: all that I have is not mine, but yours; my individual choices should be confirmed by the collective conscience (substantially, by you, given that human thought is structurally dual); my opinions are irrelevant, when compared to the big, collective mind; individuals are parts of the collective mind, and those parts are essentially unnecessary, and tolerated as long as they behave according to the “common” norms; and so on. Why is the concept of collective mind extremely dangerous? Simply because it is the fundamental step to start an identification process, that inevitably ends with the dictatorships of a caste of bureaucrats, with other words, one or more persons become the “elected” (or chosen) speakers of the collective mind. When the identification process is concluded, a society is losing and wasting the most precious of the resources present in the universe, the free expression of individuals. Now, I come to a first conclusion: a democracy, in which moral values and popular ideologies are prevailing, is not a true democracy, because a true democracy requires the sovereignty of individuals, organized according to largest possible consensus. That’s the reason why the Constitution of Italy, which assigns the sovereignty to political parties, is not democratic, and no longer acceptable. In effect, political parties are nothing but the speakers of the collective mind, above described.
What is history? You have two possible ways of answering: a rational treaty, implicitly written by the collective mind; a mere collection of mistakes, horrors, craziness, and lethal illusions, from which you might take some information, useful to avoid wrong choices, already put into practice in past years. As you can understand, I prefer the second way of answering. Consequently, I trust unorthodox historiography, and I’m convinced that a properly-made revisionism is the essence of a history, that’s intended as useful to mankind, and not to dictators and oligarchs. Coming to music, I’ve put into practice a revisionism of classic funky music. The result is a possible enlargement of funky knowledge. Only you know if you need that, or not. In reality, things are the same for historic studies.
