The page has been inspired by an Italian web page, titled “The Devil Wears Paper”. Well, I know that the devil is always able to raise attention and interest, but, in my opinion, when you dedicate a page to the devil, you should talk about the devil himself, if you don’t want to delude your readers. In effect, the page cited above has left me unsatisfied, because it doesn’t contain anything in the matter of demonism. Differently, my efforts are directed towards a definition of evil, that might be largely accepted, independently from religious, philosophical, and ethical convictions. However, I maintain the basic idea of referring the content to the popular movie “The Devil Wears Prada”. More precisely, I exploit the metaphor of devil’s outfits, in order to attempt a definition of the exterior aspect of evil, that can help you in distinguishing good from evil, a purpose sometimes very hard.
Obviously, the devil is a personification of evil. I don’t want to entirely follow any ethical doctrine, given that I’m sure that a global definition of evil would be precious, as a vector of notable advances in civilizations, and in global relationships among different cultures. For that, I’ve elaborated a genial intuition of a philosopher of ancient Rome, according to whom all of the evils of the world are originated by hate or by envy, or by a mixture of hate and envy. Coming to the application of the metaphor of devil’s outfits, the devil always appears as a bringer of menacing disrespect, that can be masked under various kinds of appearance, for being more effective in fooling you. The page aspires to be not excessively long, and not generic. Thus, I propose an example of the many, possible masks of the devil, the political moralizer.
How can you recognize the devil behind the mask of the political moralizer? First, a true moralizer doesn’t want to change you, without your consent, by making you feel guilty, but wants you to understand his own behavior, as a possible example and source of inspiration. Second, it’s easy to wear the mask of a moralizer when you’re not an invulnerable criminal. More precisely, if you haven’t succeeded in robbing the things that you desire, you are not necessarily a criticizer of robbers, but, possibly, an envier of robbers. Third, in case your money is like God, and my money is like the devil’s shit, you have established a double moral standard, that’s always totally immoral. Fourth, adding psychological violence to ethics reveals a will for becoming an oppressor. What can a political moralizer do? He can make the “moral concern” his own horse of battle, in order to appear perfectly honest, and much more honest than his political adversaries. In the meanwhile, he secretly funds internal terrorism, and creates an efficient system of corruption of criminal judges, by robbing big amounts of money from banks. That way, the political moralizer becomes an invulnerable criminal, ready to blackmail anyone all over his country.
In conclusion, when the devil wears the mask of a political moralizer, you might not immediately recognize him, and become a fooled puppet in devil’s hands. Sometimes, a late sight at devil’s face might be not enough for saving your soul. After having remembered certain true facts, I can assure you that the political moralizer is one of the most successful devil’s outfits. Naturally, the mix of the page is a collection of songs talking about devil's appearance and outfits.
