The page is about professional politicians, belonging to every kind of political party, and active in every kind of country, including democracies, oligarchies, theocracies, and dictatorships. Before talking about political dentology, the main topic of the page, I try to explain why it is important.
In the most advanced democracies, constitutions guarantee an equilibrium among public powers, and mechanisms of popular control over each public power. For a simplification and an acceleration of political decisions, the popular control is often indirect, however it can’t be effective without any constitutional procedure of participation in the matters of taxes, public expenses, and definition of the principal purposes of the government. The constitution of Italy establishes a hypocrite kind of oligarchy, because popular control is expressly denied, just in the three matters of the above, despite of suggestive principles and solemn declarations. In effect, for instance, lobbyism is clearly excluded. Well, lobbyism is something imperfect, that generates long-term problems, such as the “deep state” criticized by president Trump, and the penetration of foreign interests, good for the business of multinational enterprises, and opposite to national interests. Nevertheless, lobbyism is far better than a total absence of popular control over the fundamental political decisions, like for the Italian constitution. Similarly to dictatorships, the spoken constitution assigns popular control to political parties, that are sorts of ivory towers, totally extraneous to common citizens, and to professional bureaucrats, who have always behaved the same way of professional politicians. Consequently, in oligarchies, including Italy, and in dictatorships the topic of political deontology would be absolutely fundamental, although it is always not regulated, voluntarily omitted, or not effective, due to the coincidence of the controllers to the controlled. Now you can understand the reasons why the reported quote by Fausto Bertinotti is honest and sincere, but also banal and obvious.
I must confess that my point of view about professional politicians is similar to the one of the great writer Mark Twain. There’s no profession, except for political activity, to admit liars, cheaters, and stealers. Differently, politically correct intellectuals affirm that a politician can lie, when it’s necessary for the prevalence of the lesser of two evils, or for maintaining social harmony. I humbly notice that no one can validly define what is good or bad for me, without asking anything to me, or knowing my preferences very well. Secondly, the content of social harmony should come from the contribution of many musical instruments, and not from the performance of a soloist. Of course, the Italian constitution doesn’t contain anything about a code of ethics of politicians. Well, the American constitution is much more advanced, because contains a system of check and balances, inclusive of lobbyism, recognizes the inviolability and sacredness of private property, and gives to any citizen the right to bear firearms. For that, logically, the 85th Congress has approved a Code of Ethics of politicians (1957-1958).
Which country has the best professional politicians? The answer is irrelevant, because professional politicians always tend to be liars, cheaters, and stealers, simply because they are most of all self-serving. In conclusion, the typical professional politician is a fusion of arrogance and touchiness with the innate ability to create fake news. Coming to music, naturally, the mix of the page is entirely made of a fusion of dirty jazz, rather impure and contaminated.
