For those who have the patience to keep in mind important facts, avoiding to be fooled by official media, the mysteries of professional politics are much less mysterious. Of course, honest men don’t blackmail anyone, and might attempt to warn other honest men about what’s happening to them all, in order to make better political choices, as long as possible, and without taking legal or personal risks. The first warning is on double moral standards. Moral condemnations coming from immoral persons can sometimes be strong, long-lasting, and very dangerous. Consequently, you might trust unfaithful and bloody criminals, whose main purpose is stealing your rights and your goods. The second warning is about corruption, and is equal to the title of the page. It means that everyone is for sale, even if prices are rather variable, from small to huge amounts.
I want to briefly remember a large corruption case discovered in the year 1976, and known as “Lockheed bribery scandals”. A series of governments of the USA forced five counties to buy an American-built military plane, the C-130 Hercules, by Lockheed Corporation, that was badly projected and filled with notable faults. The described result was obtained due to corruption of politicians of the interested countries, including my homeland, Italy. A man of the Italian Christian Democrats, fictionally called “Antelope Cobbler”, distributed the fruit of the corruption among political parties. Even the Italian Communist party obtained a big sum of money, and for that indirectly sustained a government without the majority of parliamentarian votes, only made of Christian Democrats. The communists took the money, and asked the resignation of the president of the republic, Mr. Giovanni Leone, who was accused to be Antelope Cobbler and sentenced by the Constitutional Court. Well, you can’t buy a communist party for a long time, with only one episode of corruption. In effect, the Red Brigades, a terrorist group rumored to be a hidden tool of the official Communist party, started a series of attacks, among which the murder of a judge, Mr. Francesco Coco, the chief of the public accusation in Genoa. In the year 1978, the Red Brigades kidnapped the president of the Christian Democrats, Mr. Aldo Moro. A part of the Christian Democrats thought to stipulate a blood pact with the Communist party, by letting the Red Brigades to kill Mr. Moro himself. Which man of the Christian Democrat party obtained the consent of the Communist party? I think it’s obvious, Antelope Cobbler himself. Otherwise, Mr. Giulio Andreotti, a Christian Democrat leader and the best politician of the history of the Italian republic, knew about the blood pact, and realized that it was a terrible mistake. Thus, he decided to work for a political revenge. In effect, the fifth Government presided by Giulio Andreotti obtained the approval of the Parliament of a privatization of the treatment of the personnel of the State Railways Autonomous Body (Azienda Autonoma delle Ferrovie dello Stato), the law number 42 of February 6, 1979. The law provoked the fierce opposition of the Communist party, that, notoriously, was getting a large part of its illegal financing from the control of the railway contracts, among which many small, never-ending, public works. The intention of the government was to stop the favorable conditions that allowed the described illegal financing, through a complete privatization of the State railways. Nevertheless, the privatization has been stopped until today, because the “State Railways Group” (the new, irrelevant, name) entirely belongs to the Ministry of Economy. How? With two massacres, a bombing on a plane exploded near Ustica, and a bombing at the Bologna railways station. Italian criminal justice system has established that the massacre of Ustica was a military attack from France, by valorizing the lies told by a Christian Democrat. Who was? Yes, Antelope Cobbler. Criminal judges have also established that the massacre of Bologna was a terrorist attack of the far-right. Intelligent persons might ask why are Italian criminal judges often confirming huge, political lies? Yes, it's the same old song.
Is corruption strong enough to permanently stop the terrible jokes of Fate? My answer is in two parts. The first part is a citation of the wisdom of ancient Romans, who affirmed that man is wolf to man, including your fellows and your political friends. The second part is an obvious observation, genial criminals might live for more than 90 years, but are not immortal, and practically impossible to substitute, because of their enormous ego.
