How to say something left-wing, without hypocrisy

Please, say something left-wing” (excerpt of the film “Aprile”, directed by Nanni Moretti); “Well if you don’t want to say something left-wing, please say something about civil rights” (declaration to media by Nanni Moretti, late 90’s); “Sorry, but until our political party is managed by the bureaucrats, who are near me, we can’t win any election” (excerpt of a discourse by Nanni Moretti at piazza Navona in Rome, during a political manifestation of the year 2002)

Nanni Moretti is a popular film director from Italy, openly in favor of communism, like many other Italian intellectuals, who are dominating the cultural fields. His best quality is a notable sense of irony, that has let him pronounce some memorable quotes, still largely remembered and discussed in Italy. Three of those quotes are reported at the beginning of the page, in a translation into English made by me. The implicit mentality of Nanni Moretti, that results from the three quotes, is rather common among leftist intellectuals. I can summarize the mentality of the above as follows: the ideology of political left is undisputedly the best, and common persons only need to know about it, in order to cultivate a social consciousness, that equals to a necessary consent. Well, my readers know what I think about human faculties and the products of those faculties, such as any political ideology. Nevertheless, I exclusively criticize something that I know enough. More, I’m sure that no sublime enlightenment has ever fallen on me, and that no divinity has gifted me with superior qualities. So, I’d simply like to stimulate your autonomous reflections, for offering you a small chance of personal growth. This time, the topic of the page is answering to the invitation made by Nanni Moretti, that consisted of saying something left-wing (see the first of the reported quotes). Of course, it was not directed to me, but to the leader of the Italian communists in late 90’s, who didn’t give any immediate answer. A warning, I’m going to say leftist things according to what commonly happens, and not according to leftist propaganda, that is always sophisticated and suggestive.

I’m about to list a series of affirmations, taken from vocabularies and praxes of the major communist parties all over the world. My main effort consists of avoiding hypocrisy, even behind the masks of Jacobinism, and of Machiavellianism. Your eventual contribution is welcome. Please, send your suggestions at the e-mail max.lookdj@alice.it. The list of left-wing affirmations:

  • Ambition is a crime against proletariat, while, without any ambition, the man becomes a sort of android;
  • Anyone, who doesn’t support left-wing parties, should be a fascist or a Nazi; no society is entirely made of companions and enemies, for instance, because you don’t know the major part of the members of your social context;
  • Bureaucrats should be omnipotent; for that, the road to any socialist utopia has been permanently closed;
  • Civil rights might not depend on economic factors, but everything has a cost;
  • Communism has been made to defend workers, although it never succeeded in doing that;
  • Communism is morality, because it is against the exploitation of labor; differently, mutual exploitation is the fundamental basis of each kind of human civilization;
  • Declining birth rate depends on a lack of public services in favor of women; on the contrary, the excessive presence of state apparatuses is causing to individuals the loss of any autonomous capacity of planning their lives, because political and professional bureaucrats are deciding almost everything about jobs, careers, salaries, and retirements;
  • Democracy is destined to fade slowly, as an effect of indifference; despite, the absence of indifference is fatally destined to become totalitarianism, and to kill any hope of freedom;
  • Exclusively left parties can guarantee social equality; however, human individuals are all different, one to the others, and artificial equalitarianism forbids personal realization;
  • Familiar relationships should not obstacle the conquers of proletarians; no society can work peacefully and fruitfully, without a decisive role of families;
  • Freedom is participation; well, how can I participate to myself without going mad?
  • LGBT rights need political guarantee and protection, because proletarians deserve sexual freedom; in terms of time spent, sex is a minor part of lifetime, not fundamental, except for reproductive aspects, and parental relationships;
  • Markets are not self-regulating, and the main reason is that the 80% of the countries of the world are dictatorships or oligarchies, prevalently confessional or leftist; consequently, the markets themselves are not free;
  • No peace without social justice; sorry, human justice is necessarily unjust, and a source of resentment, so no peace without forgiveness;
  • Political left equals to recognizing the social conflict, even when absent;
  • Political left is indispensable; pity that no one on this planet is indispensable;
  • Privacy is a stratagem for tax evasion, or tax elusion; without privacy, you’re destined to lose anything you own, material and immaterial;
  • Private property is a theft; at the same time, collective property has always coincided with loss of value, loss of maintenance, and loss of the interested goods;
  • Public expenses can’t depend on gross domestic product, because the State should redistribute richness, and satisfy public needs; each past attempt to redistribute richness has exclusively destroyed a part of the existing richness, because state apparatuses can never avoid diseconomies and unproductive activities;
  • Salary should be bound to needs, and not to profits; nevertheless, money doesn’t grow on trees;
  • State-planned economy is the unique way to obtain the necessary prevalence of proletariat; is that prevalence really worth?
  • Taxes are beautiful; to the other hand, behind the mask of social duties, public money are largely wasted, all over the world;
  • Temporary and precarious jobs should be eliminated, because they don’t give to workers the necessary sureness; nevertheless, temporary businesses exist, and have a notable social utility;
  • There’s a global right to migrate from poor to richer countries; no society can unlimitedly integrate any migrant, and the inevitable growth of the number of emarginated persons is never a good idea;
  • Without Communism, Nazism and Fascism would prevail; in reality, right-wing governments are globally a minor number, and no right-wing government is founded on the traditional doctrines of Nazism and Fascism; in spite of the prevalence of Communism, the world is evidently a dangerous place, filled with craziness and violence;
  • You can only own the money that the State let you own; fatally, my commitment depends on personal motivations, and not on the glory of the State administration;
  • Your hard work serves for the reputation of the political party; political parties should be tools, for obtaining a correct popular representativeness, and not temples of oligarchy.

It’s time for a conclusion. While I’m still able to say something left-wing, I can’t appreciate the same things anymore. The main reason is that I have not maintained the capacity of fooling myself. In quality of web DJ, this doesn’t mean that I can’t employ leftist music. In effect, good music is good, even when the content of the lyrics, or the inspiration of the songs are eminently leftist, or wrong, or bad, or Satanic, and so on. For that, the mix of the page has a political content, eminently leftist.

File “leftist rock can shake even you, by Max Look DJ (Apr 2024)”, 1 hour and 15’ of beautiful tracks, whose content is bound to political left.
