Are killer mothers monsters or victims of circumstances?

The page is about neonaticide, infanticide, and filicide, in case the author of the killing is the mother. Previously, I remember to my readers that the topic has been notably deepened, especially by psychiatrists, psychologists, and criminologists. For that, let me omit definitions, detailed notions, and statistics, and let me invite you to personal readings, given that the web contains many reliable sites, where any answer, or curiosity, can be satisfied. The murder committed by mothers has always been considered as highly unnatural, and opposite to feminine archetypes, so that killer mothers are often compared to criminal monsters. Well, I have thought that the cited topic is suitable to the blog, and good for non-scientific observations, of the socio-political, and cultural kinds. Before that, I feel the duty of summarizing the common traits of killer mothers: there’s almost always a compelling situation, inducted by mental pathologies, personality disorders, and depressive statuses, either post-partum, or bound to familiar relationships; at high percentages, they are married housewives in industrialized, western countries, belonging to small bourgeoisie; the killings are often violent, much more violent than the necessary; many of the killings happen at home; the trend of statistics varies from country to country; the 5 major causes of the killings are: Medea syndrome (the baby is killed with the purpose of obtaining a revenge against the male partner), altruistic (the mother wants to avoid sufferance to her direct descendant, and usually commit suicide after the murder), psychotic, the suppression of the fruit of an unwanted pregnancy, and accidental situation (for instance, a sudden raptus).

According to official mass media, in advanced countries 1 woman on 3 has experienced sexual violence. I don’t know if the fact is supported by objective evidences, but I think it’s something very important, able to weaken, or annihilate, maternal instinct. With other words, many mothers are ready and happy to take care only of the desired fruits of their womb. As I have referred, although potential killer mothers are everywhere around the globe, the countries far more interested to the phenomenon are the most advanced, belonging to the western part of the world. What are the reasons for that? First, according to the common mentality of poor countries, descendants are a blessing of the gods, similarly to what happens with the proletarians, who are maliciously described in leftist ideologies. On the contrary, in western countries descendants have ceased to represent the main lifetime mission of women. Second, in western countries feminism has become radical, and the prevailing concept of equality of genders includes everything, intended as any kind of social position and of activity. Of course, there are problematic consequences, as follows: maternity is seen as an obstacle to a successful career, and to the personal aspirations of females; social relationships between female and male genders have become conflictual; the rising conflicts of the above are pushing males towards brutality and violence, and the most weak and vulnerable of them can’t always bear the kind of pressure; there’s an ever-growing frustration among females, because social prestige is inevitably destined to a small number of persons, while everyone strongly desires it; definitely, feelings stronger than love are more and more largely spread, and, alas, their names are envy and hate.

As my readers know, my concept of evil is close to the one of ancient Romans. Briefly and simply, all the evil of the world is generated from envy and hate. Naturally, envy and hate have infinite variations, and unlimited declinations. That’s why I totally reject communism, as the doctrine of social hate, deeply rooted inside social envy. Back to killer mothers, I can’t appreciate the notion of “victim of circumstances”, because I’m convinced that humanism consists of reacting to circumstances, especially to the ones of the hostile kind. On the other hand, the notion of criminal monster doesn’t convince me. In my opinion, a monster sleeps inside the psyche of each person, and there are two things able to awake it: envy and hate. In conclusion, I think that killer mothers are always “criminal monsters”, although of a rather common kind, that means being fully dominated by envy and hate. Coming to music, the mix of the page shows the strength of envy. In effect, many musicians are envious of the great melodies of northern soul, and have “stolen” those melodies from classic hits of the genre, for the purpose of getting the moral possess of one of those hits, through a personal reinterpretation.

File name “envy towards classic hits of northern soul, by Max Look DJ (Dec 2025)”, 1 hour and 23’ of melodies stolen from classic hits of northern soul.
