Hey miss female DJ, why not funking with me?

The topic of female DJs at nightclubs has been one of the favorites for the blog. From 2013 to 2023, I published 5 pages dedicated to it. Here, I only list the titles: “Me goombah Tarzan, you Djane (female DJs I love you)”; “Fast jets for the Djettes”; “At one time we were discussing the sex of angels, today discussing the sex of disco music”; “Sexism & music & idiosyncrasy”; “Manga comics have become a lifestyle, suitable to female DJs from Asia”. By reading the titles, you might understand that the content of the pages was demi-serious. The purposes of them were various. First of all, I have wanted to discuss a typical commonplace coming from political correctness, that the business of nightclubs has always been dominated by males. The web can largely confirm that the commonplace is no longer valid. For instance, I’ve found about 10,5 thousand of professional female DJs, even if the nightclub sector is suffering from a global crisis. Second, I have attempted to justify the evident, increasing success of female DJs. Perhaps, there are two elements: the so called “internet mentally”, that obliges anyone of being immediately attractive, in order to catch some attention, and is more suitable to feminine aspect and habits; a new gender mentality, that’s the result of feminism, of equal rights between males and females, and of the social struggles against masculinism and patriarchy. Third, I have observed the nature of the recurring behaviors of female DJs, and I have concluded that, at least, there are the following common traits: independence, pragmatism, lack of romanticism, mental strength enough to survive at places filled with dangers. Fourth, I have remembered that sexism has always been absent from the places of disco/house music, and that frequenters of nightclubs have no idiosyncrasy towards free and competitive markets. Fifth, I have evidenced that music has no gender, and that there’s no musical genre reserved to males, or females, including hard rock/metal. Now, I think it’s time for a brief deepening of the psychology of professional female DJs.

There’s a part of human mind common to everyone, coming from Mother Nature, and another part shaped by individual experiences. Of course, Mother Nature has shown to care most about the conservation of the species, and has modelled human mind in order to associate sexuality and reproduction. Due to sexual dimorphism, and to the fact that females have an exclusive role into reproduction process, there are differences in the matter of archetypes. In effect, human psyche has many archetypes not bound to sexual dimorphism, and some archetypes proper of each gender. Talking about the second category of archetypes, Oedipus complex is rather frequent among males, and penis envy is commonly present into female subconscious. Let me try to apply the things above summarized to the activity of nightclub DJ. Why do I like the activity of nightclub DJ? Maybe, because I unconsciously wish to fascinate and please my mother. It doesn’t matter whether my mother is alive or not, my mental mechanism doesn’t abandon me, until my death. Why does an average female nightclub DJ appreciate her activity? Maybe, because doing a stressful job can illude her that she can ignore the absence of a penis, given that she’s got something similar. Another theory might be based on the similarity of DJ activity to penetration, where music is subject to changes because of the DJ’s manipulations. What about homosexuals? In my opinion, homosexuality is not depending on general archetypes, but on individual experiences. Consequently, I believe that no homosexual is “born this way”. It doesn’t mean that homosexuality is a kind of illness, but that it derives from juvenile peculiar events, partly conscious and partly unconscious, perhaps shocking, traumatic, or remarkable.

In conclusion, I can’t see any serious obstacle for female DJs in funking with me. Naturally, the kind of relationship is electively virtual. For instance, the mix of the page, belonging to new funk, sometimes named “house funk”, can represent a common ground.
